My Views on the film, "Naan Kadavul"; "I am GOD"

Posted on Feb 11th, 2009 by Akbar : Musical Peace Akbar

Dears,

My views on Naan Kadavul:

Exact comment to be made is already made by our IlaiyaRaaja. "None other than Bala can think or can create this movie, if anyone else wants to think it will take several years. Also I was taken to a new state of mind while composing music for this movie."

Camera is very nice. Dialogues are very fine and crisp. Screenplay has the stamp of Bala. Rudran, a well defined and clean characterization. Arya is not seen, only you can see Rudran. Pooja has done a nice job. The love and commitment for art has excelled in both the artists along with all other artists & technicians. The complete team has done their job.

But the disappointment comes due to the omission of Songs, "Amma UN Pilai", "Kannil Paarvai Pona pothum" &, "Oru Katril alaiyum". And first 20-30mins, some audience find it difficult to comprehend the subject of the movie. Such people pick up the subject slowly.

The movie is very fine and it takes you to a new world.

Coming to the most important aspect we are interested in:
Musical Score or Re-recording of our IlaiyaRaaja.

For the first time I see a very new IlaiyaRaaja.

Ilaiyaraaja has perceived the movie in two levels. Level 1: Normal emotions of common people like us. Level 2: Divine energy level without emotions (exactly matching the character of Rudran)

So, IlaiyaRaaja has composed music in two levels: Level 1: Normal IlaiyaRaaja's music which will bring tears from eyes with all emotions. Level 2: New IlaiyaRaaja's music with new frequencies of instruments and without normal emotional content in it, but expressing only the divine energy (of Rudran's character).

If your mind starts resonating to the level 2 music (from the beginning), the pain in the characters can be felt but your eyes will not shed tears. Nevertheless, the climax music will bring wetness to the eyes. Else if you struck with level 1, you will be shedding tears throughout the movie.

A sub level or a theme within level 1 is given for the beggars' place and for the painful torments.

A sub level within level 2, seems to be a third level at times, is provided for the fighting or action scenes. The music expressing only divine energy is taken to new elevation and looks like the total natural energy is fighting against the evil. Simply be called elevated level 2 music.

These are my personal views, they maybe correct or wrong. If I could watch couple of times, I can confidently say, what I have felt is correct.

On few occasions the music seems to be too divine. Common people may not comprehend. Only IlaiyaRaaja's fans can comprehend. Many people have said, “The music is great”.

Theatre people can help us by adjusting their sound settings to suit to real instruments used in the movie instead of keeping it for effects of electronic & plastic music.

Thank you very much for patient reading.

With love & peace
Akbar

I think you’re right, Akbar.  There are those two levels in the music.  Maybe even more!  It’s such a gift that you can perceive to the divine level coming forth from it.  Blessings this day, Kathy

Thank you very much Kathy & Nicole! Your comments are the real gift! Deep Bows to you both!

I would like to add this:
Rudran, was abandoned by his father, in his childhood, at Varanasi (Kasi), for his bad horoscope.

There he was grown up with Saints, who call themselves GOD. They will kill bad people and burn them. Also they will kill those good people who suffer due to their poverty or incapability for survival, on their request. They destroy evil souls and they free the suffering good souls. So, they call themselves GOD. Rudran, also does the same, now.

Rudran’s faather comes back and take him to his hometown after 14 years. There, Rudran comes across Amsavalli, a blind lady, who sings and begs for her survival. The underworld mafia tries to sell Amsavalli & abuse her. Indeed, during a chase by undeworld mafia, Amsavalli manages to reach Rudran.

Rudran kills the evil mafia guys. And later by the request from the blind lady, he also kills her.

The film highlights the plight of beggars and questions the divinity of GOD for creating such painful lives.

The film must be watched by people who love God.

Without the support of ILaiyaRaaja, the dirctor cannot make this bold attempt for making such a film. Now Indain culture is in diarray, movies with seductive element only see monetary benefit. Perhaps, this film will change it.

With love & peace Akbar

Hi Nightphoenix! Thank you very much for your comment! Could you please cleanly define what is good and what is bad?
Yes! You are right. We cannot find fault with GOD, for killing us after our life-time.

notice i did not say bad.  I said fault finder.  Some people look to complain and look towards the negative energy of life.  The attitude of gratitude is more in line with what I was saying – as in being inspired rather then being desperate.
Being Better rather then being Bitter.  Looking on the bright rather then seeing things as getting worse.

If no IlaiyaRaaja, no IlaiyaRaaja’s music. If no IlaiyaRaaja’s music, no Akbar’s Gaia profile. If no Akbar’s Gaia profile, Akbar cannot meet these great people of the world, here at Gaia.

IlaiyaRaaja’s music has brought us togther.
