Thank you! Rita! These songs are the devotional songs for Lord Ayyapa of Sabari Mala! The devotees go there after 41 days of Vratha (a state of purity). Ilaiyaraaja to compose this Album with 8 songs running for 41mins, also kept 41 days of Vratha. For the 41 days they have to refrain from worldly pleasures and should take only clean pure veg food prepared by pure people in home, should take bath 3 times a day, like that many aspects are there for this Vratha.
But as a Muslim, I see these songs as completely devotional and represent the one and only GOD. Indeed, when it comes to Music or God, it is beyond any religion, any caste, any community. It is pure form devotion. These songs are direct communication of Soul with One & Only God.
